Hatshepsut was born in Thebes, Egypt, in 1508 BC. She was the daughter of Thutmose I and Ahmose, and she was the half-sister of Thutmose III. Hatshepsut was educated in the royal palace, and she was taught to read and write hieroglyphics. She was also trained in the arts of government and diplomacy.

In 1479 BC, Hatshepsut married her half-brother, Thutmose III. Thutmose III was a weak and indecisive ruler, and Hatshepsut quickly assumed control of the government. She took the title of pharaoh, and she ruled Egypt for over 20 years.

Hatshepsut was a skilled and effective ruler. She oversaw the construction of some of Egypt's most famous monuments, including the Karnak Temple Complex and the Red Pyramid. She also led Egypt to victory in several wars, and she expanded the empire's bFree Downloads.
