In 1895, Einstein moved to Switzerland to attend the Swiss Federal Polytechnic School in Zurich. He graduated in 1900 with a degree in physics. After briefly teaching high school, Einstein worked as a patent examiner in the Swiss Patent Office from 1902 to 1909.

Groundbreaking Theories

During his time at the Patent Office, Einstein published a series of groundbreaking papers that revolutionized our understanding of the universe. In 1905, he published his theory of special relativity, which overturned the classical laws of motion and reformed our understanding of space and time.

In 1915, Einstein published his theory of general relativity, which extended the theory of special relativity to include gravity. General relativity provided a new understanding of the universe as a curved manifold that is shaped by the distribution of mass and energy.

Einstein's theories of relativity had a profound impact on our understanding of the universe. They led to new insights into black holes, gravitational waves, and the expansion of the universe.

Personal Life

Einstein married Mileva Marić, a fellow physicist, in 1903. They had three children together. Einstein and Maric divorced in 1919, and Einstein married his cousin, Elsa Löwenthal, in 1922.

Einstein was a passionate advocate for peace and social justice. He was a member of the League of Nations and spoke out against fascism and war. Einstein also supported the civil rights movement and was a friend of Martin Luther King Jr.

Later Years and Legacy

In 1933, Einstein left Germany due to the rise of the Nazi Party. He moved to the United States and joined the Institute for Advanced Study in Princeton, New Jersey. Einstein spent the rest of his life working on his theory of a unified field, which would combine all of the forces of nature into a single framework.

Albert Einstein died on April 18, 1955. He left behind a legacy as one of the greatest scientists of all time. His theories of relativity revolutionized our understanding of the universe, and his humanitarian efforts made a lasting impact on the world.

Albert Einstein was a brilliant physicist and a remarkable humanitarian. His groundbreaking theories changed our understanding of the universe, and his passion for peace and social justice left a lasting legacy. Einstein's life and work continue to inspire scientists, scholars, and activists around the world.
